The Flawlessness of Flawed

We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams;—
World-losers and world-forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world for ever, it seems.
-Arthur O’Shaughnessy
Ode  -first poem in O’Shaughnessy’s (1844-1881) collection Music & Moonlight

  1. Love this poem and photo! Really look forward to reading your blog, Mare!

    • Thanks NB -DDp :)!

This is the sea wall at Lyme Regis in the southwest of England. It is where they shot parts of the movie “The French Lieutenants Woman”. Unfortunately every year some poor soul gets washed out to sea from standing on the Cobb. However, in my book it is better to live and loose than to never live at all I think.

N and I plan to have a house one day in this area of England or one in the Lake District also featured in the same movie :)! You can come to take tea with me as we sit at the window seat overlooking the Cobb or Lake Windermere in Cumbria.

The house I grew up in had a massive window seat as well. There and in the crook of an old apple tree I sat many blissful hours learning the delights of loosing oneself in a book.

One of my favorite rooms ever in a stunning house begins at 7:30 in:

Is it a date for tea one day lovely?
